1. Pre-installation Stage:
Consultation and Assessment: This involves an initial consultation at your property, to understand the customer’s energy needs and assess the feasibility of solar installation at your location.
Design and Proposal: After the assessment, a customised solar solution is designed, and a proposal is presented to the customer including detailed generation and financial projections.
Permits and Approvals: We will manage your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) application, which is confirmation from the National Grid that you can export (sell) the electricity that you generate back to the grid.
Prepare to get on the right electricity tariff from your provider: We will help you prepare to switch to the most beneficial tariff for your circumstances.
Order a Smart Meter! To get the right tariff you will more than likely need a smart meter if you don’t already have one. Do not be put off, you will be able to use this to see how much money you are making!
2. During Installation Stage:
Site Preparation: We will ensure that the scaffolding is installed satisfactorily prior to the work commencing and will be as sympathetic as possible to your garden and property.
Before we start: We will walk you through the installation, agree the final checks on what goes where, agree any visible cable routes if necessary and ensure that your RCD can cope with the installation.
Installation of Solar Panels: Solar panels, roof fixing and if specified bird protection installation.
Electrical Installation: Connects the solar panels to the inverter, metering, isolator switches, batteries, EV charger if required, and the mains power supply.
System Testing: The installed system is thoroughly tested to ensure it is functioning correctly and efficiently.
Demonstration: Only when we are happy, we will walk you through your new system, show you how to download the system app to your smart ‘phone or tablet so that you can monitor your generation.
3. Post-installation Stage:
Paperwork: We will send the details of your installation, the MCS certificate and the DNO approval off to your grid provider, so that they can sign off the installation enabling you to sell what you export. (This is not an instant process and can take around six weeks).
System Monitoring: If you are happy for us to do so, we can monitor your system to ensure optimal performance and make sure you have it set up correctly.
Maintenance and Support: The components of your system are guaranteed for at least 10 years, and if there is an issue we will replace those for you without hesitation. We can also provide a quarterly panel cleaning service if you wish to take that option.
